Though not yet officially as husband and wife, Nigerian singer 9ice has called upon the services of his former spouse in a bid rejuvenate his career. As part of a rebranding process, the singer has put together a team of management around him which includes his ex-wife, Toni Payne. Though the Toni Payne’s role in the newly assembled management team is yet to be officially revealed, Entertainment Express gathered that the she will be handling the publicity and media duties of the singer.
An insider avows that artiste manager and showbiz personality, Toni Payne, “is putting all her support into making sure that her ex-husband’s acting career is a success.”
Earlier in the year Ms Payne attended the premiere of Foluke Daramola’s Jejere, a flick which gave her ex husband his first break in Nollywood. In her new role as his publicist, she has been bombarding Twitter with promotional tweets of the latest single from the singer who is trying to stage a comeback.
Barely after one year of marriage, 9ice and Toni Payne separated in 2009 after a long and messy fight. The controversial separation came with lots of accusation of infidelity from both parties.
